Transcript: Um, talk me through like, what does your day-to-day life look like in Spain and (17:22) what has surprised you the most kind of in Spanish culture versus kind of American culture? (17:28) Yeah. Uh, I think the most surprising thing is how much slower everything moves in the United (17:33) States. Like I said, we're eating in the car, we're rushing back and forth from so many things, (17:38) um, and trying to move into a new city.
I started with that energy and kind of showing up at these (17:46) different stores and realizing they're closed. You know, Siesta is a real thing. The stores shut (17:51) down in the afternoon.
Um, so no matter how much I want to continue to, to keep pushing things (17:57) forward, it forced me to really slow down and take a break. Um, in every sense of the way. I mean, (18:03) I don't have a dryer.
I'm line drawing my clothes. Uh, dinner starts late and they take hours. It's (18:09) just everything.
The pace of it is so much more, um, is so much slower and it's allowed us to (18:17) really, um, well, first of all, let go of my desire for control. That's been really important. (18:23) Um, but also just connect as a family.
Like as you sit there over dinner, we're, we're playing (18:28) different games and, um, we're having conversations that we hadn't had the time for or made the time (18:34) for in the United States. So that's been a huge shift for us for sure. (18:39)
