Manouchka: Hey Boss Mama. Welcome back to the show. I’m your host, Manouchka Elefant, a marketing expert with a one-and-a-half-year-old son, making the most of his nap time to record this episode.

Today we’re diving into a topic that I know will resonate with so many of you: the importance of surrounding ourselves with peers to support our growth as mom entrepreneurs.

Let’s face it. Being a mom entrepreneur is an incredible journey, but it’s also full of challenges, and trying to do it all alone is a big part of what makes it feel so overwhelming.

In this episode, we’re talking about why community matters, how it can transform your business and personal life, and practical ways to find your tribe.

So grab your coffee, or whatever keeps you going these days, and let’s dive in.

Manouchka: Let’s start with the elephant in the room.

Being a mom and being an entrepreneur are two experiences that can feel isolating.

Depending on your family, friends, and where you live, or simply because it’s something new, becoming a mom in itself can feel isolating. The long nights, staying sane with a baby crying for we-don’t-know-which reason, and the hormone crashes, it all adds up.

I remember that although I had a great partner and family support, I still felt quite alone at times.

But add to that being an entrepreneur and it just piles up.

Most of us are working from home as solo entrepreneurs, or if we have a team, they don’t necessarily understand the mental load of having so many spinning plates. You’re juggling a business, family, household responsibilities, and hopefully sneaking in a little time for yourself.

But so often we do this in a silo. We think, I just have to push through, or no one else will get what I’m going through.

Does that sound familiar?

But the truth is, no matter how capable we are, trying to do everything solo isn’t sustainable.

Isolation isn’t just lonely. It can stunt your growth as a business owner and even affect your mental health.

However, what’s also incredible about being a mom entrepreneur is that there are a bunch of ladies just like us trying to figure it out, dealing with toddlers or teenagers while following our dreams of being our own boss with a successful business that gives us freedom.

The thing is, we need to find them.

When we surround ourselves with a community of women who just get it, it changes everything.

Having a community, whether it’s a mastermind, a support group, or even just a few like-minded friends, does so much more than make you feel less alone.

It gives you fresh perspective, because sometimes we’re so close to our own challenges that we can’t see the bigger picture. Talking to others helps us gain that clarity.

It gives us accountability, because it’s easy to let goals slide when no one’s watching. A community keeps you focused and motivated.

It’s also inspirational and gives you new ideas. Have you ever had a casual conversation spark a game-changing idea? That’s the magic of connecting with others.

But let’s not forget encouragement and support, because let’s be real, there are days when we feel like giving up, and a supportive community can remind you of your why and keep you going.

Manouchka: Truthfully, starting Hey Boss Mama was inspired by my own need for connection.

When I became a mom, I found myself asking, how are other mom entrepreneurs doing this? Or how are they balancing their ambitions with their family life?

I knew I wasn’t the only one with these questions, and I wanted to hear from others who were in the trenches too.

That’s how the podcast started, but it didn’t stop there.

I realized I wanted to create a space where mom entrepreneurs could connect, learn, and support each other, because that’s what I needed.

And that’s when I launched the Hey Boss Mama Facebook group and mastermind. Seeing the connections, collaborations, and transformations happening there has just been incredible.

Manouchka: Okay, so you’re probably thinking, that sounds great, but where do I start?

Here are a few of the ways that I have found my community.

The first one is online groups.

There are so many amazing Facebook groups and online communities where you can connect with like-minded mompreneurs. What’s great is that you can make new connections even if you live in the middle of the countryside like I do, and with women all around the world.

Shameless plug: check out the Hey Boss Mama Facebook group. It’s a great place to start, and you’ll have the link in the show notes.

Second, I recommend masterminds or coaching groups.

These are perfect for deeper connections and more focused support. Choose one that fits your objectives or concerns. Some can be more wellbeing-oriented, while others have a focus on business.

Third, check out local meetups or networking events.

It’s great to balance online and in-person interactions. Look for groups in your area with regular events or meetups for women entrepreneurs or moms. There are new ones popping up all the time.

And if you don’t find one that works for you, starting your own can be a great way to reach out to other women you find inspiring.

And finally, collaborations.

Partnerships and collaborations are big for me at the moment. Hey Boss Mama has been a wonderful excuse to connect with women entrepreneurs and create win-wins where we support and learn from each other.

Reach out to other mom entrepreneurs on social media or through mutual connections. A simple DM can spark a meaningful relationship.

Manouchka: Thank you so much for tuning in today.

I hope this episode inspired you to prioritize community and connection and take steps to find your tribe.

Remember, you don’t have to do this alone.

If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with another mompreneur who could use some encouragement.

And if you want to connect with me, join the Hey Boss Mama Facebook group or send me a DM on Instagram. I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time, Boss Mama, you’ve got this.
