In financial hubs around the world, bank relationship managers are trained to sell products, not to give fiduciary advice. The products commonly offered to expat clients often carry embedded commissions, may be structured on leverage against your own portfolio, and are almost never reviewed against your US tax obligations. A bank in Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, or Dubai is not thinking about PFIC classification, FBAR reporting, or how a product interacts with your US return. If you cannot explain what you own and why it fits your situation as a US taxpayer, that is the signal to get a second opinion from someone with a fiduciary obligation.
