Speaker:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: it's super nice to meet you.

Speaker:

And thank you for filling out the health history and doing it in a detailed way.

Speaker:

This is super helpful for me to really understand your background,

Speaker:

your needs, and to pinpoint my questions a little bit more.

Speaker:

so really thank you for that because some people are kind of scared to give

Speaker:

too much information thinking that, I don't know, I sell it to the dark web.

Speaker:

So, I'm gonna ask you a lot of questions today just to really

Speaker:

fully understand you and your needs.

Speaker:

if you have any questions on the way, please just feel

Speaker:

free, stop me, ask questions.

Speaker:

Not a problem at all.

Speaker:

Um, but yeah, I will bombard you with questions.

Speaker:

So, you're married, you have a 2-year-old, And you work

Speaker:

full-time, so 45 hours a week.

Speaker:

plenty to do on a daily basis is what it sounds like.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

tell me a little bit about why you are looking for health coaching.

Tina:

Well, i'm at the point of my life where I realized I,

Tina:

I just can't do it all alone.

Tina:

I mean, I have a strong partner and he's definitely like, like the best

Tina:

decision I ever made was to marry him, Um, while I was like very capable of

Tina:

taking care of others and also taking care of myself and managing everything,

Tina:

I'm just feeling since two years or so, especially since I started working

Tina:

again, that things are kind of.

Tina:

I just don't feel, in control of my, I don't wanna say of my life.

Tina:

It sounds too dramatic.

Tina:

I just feel less and less in control of certain things and I would just

Tina:

like, things to go a bit more smoothly.

Tina:

You know?

Tina:

I'm, I feel also that I'm I feel like irritated.

Tina:

Does it make sense?

Tina:

and my mom also made this comment, oh, you used to be like this super

Tina:

balanced, bubbly person and strong and calm and funny and, you know, all this.

Tina:

And it's Exactly like who I am, kind of deep down.

Tina:

I feel like bombarded with so many challenges , at the moment.

Tina:

And as I was pointing out in the form, I love my life.

Tina:

I love my family.

Tina:

it's beautiful and it's also so intense.

Tina:

And, there are like challenges at work.

Tina:

Like, I want to have a career.

Tina:

I want to, have adult conversations.

Tina:

I want to keep doing what I'm doing because the work that I'm doing

Tina:

feels very purpose driven for me.

Tina:

It's actually related to female health.

Tina:

it's about , protecting the most vulnerable population in

Tina:

our society, being pregnant women and the unborn children.

Tina:

And able to be there for my family and able to continue doing

Tina:

this kind of work that I enjoy.

Tina:

I can just feel that my battery, like my energy is getting kind of drained a bit,

Tina:

and I'm finding difficulties to replenish that battery that I. for my daily life,

Tina:

for my daily challenge , because at the end of the day, I have priorities

Tina:

. Like I would be there for my daughter I don't want to, let her stay and

Tina:

keep her all day long from six 30 to six 30 and, pick her up as early as

Tina:

possible to have quality time and also for her not to get overstimulated.

Tina:

I feel like I'm answering this question a bit too long,

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann (2): no, it's perfect.

Tina:

Don't, don't, don't be in your, your own head about it.

Tina:

It's fine.

Tina:

I, the more information you give me, the better.

Tina:

That's fine.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

And I was hearing about people getting, this kind of professional,

Tina:

help in terms of health coaching and I would like to have.

Tina:

Something that looks at everything more holistically, you know, because

Tina:

I don't like, like just putting a bandaid on like a symptom, for

Tina:

instance . And I think for me it's time.

Tina:

to really tackle this, the strategies, the methods I used to have before

Tina:

pregnancy, before we had a little girl, they don't work anymore.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

So I, I feel like I need new tools, a new strategy, a new routine, I

Tina:

don't know, just something that fits my new life situation better.

Tina:

And, um, and then on top, I was also mentioning in the form

Tina:

there are like certain things that happened in my childhood.

Tina:

And now having a child myself, especially having a daughter myself, that kind

Tina:

of, you know, like goes with the past reawakening, I can feel that I'm having

Tina:

trouble, like shutting down my thoughts.

Tina:

So in the evening I think about many, many things and I'm

Tina:

having trouble falling asleep.

Tina:

And I try things , you know, I listen, there's like this kind of thing on

Tina:

Spotify that helps you breathe and you listen to wailing whale sounds

Tina:

or rain drops and stuff like that.

Tina:

It kind of helps, but it's, I don't know, I just haven't found the thing yet.

Tina:

And I feel that it's okay to ask for help because usually

Tina:

I'm the one people come to.

Tina:

And, you know, but I feel like no, it's, it's, it's my turn to ask for help.

Tina:

So I'm trying to practice that to actively reach out, even though

Tina:

I'm having trouble doing so.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Hmm.

Tina:

But

Tina:

now I'm like super motivated in a sense that I want to not be

Tina:

the one that kind of praises water, but then starts drinking wine.

Tina:

because I keep saying, oh, it's fine to go to therapy, it's fine to ask for

Tina:

help, you know, but I was usually the one that's, that was helping and now

Tina:

I'm like, I should follow my own advice.

Tina:

You know, I should, I should, uh, try to take this opportunity

Tina:

and, and ask for help.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Hmm.

Tina:

we have friends that have, their own parents, like their, their,

Tina:

their child's grandparents helping them out a lot on a regular basis.

Tina:

And then they both themselves work 80% and they have, like, they only send their

Tina:

child Nikita for like two days a week.

Tina:

And the rest is like super well organized within the family structure.

Tina:

And I, I caught myself, I'm actually a bit jealous, you

Tina:

know, and for me, this is a very.

Tina:

Negative thing to, to be jealous.

Tina:

And I don't want that, you know?

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

I just, I just wanna be completely happy for other people.

Tina:

Sorry.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: No, don't worry.

Tina:

I don't wanna be this

Tina:

jealous person.

Tina:

I just, so I felt like, okay, I, I, I need to change things and Yeah.

Tina:

That's why I'm here

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: that's beautiful and thank you for being so open and

Tina:

sharing that . I know it's not easy.

Tina:

and I think first of all, you're obviously a superwoman there's some

Tina:

kryptonite around us and we just need to somehow remove that then that's okay.

Tina:

and I think you're very aware of it and very open it sounds like, to

Tina:

reach out for help at the moment.

Tina:

which is great.

Tina:

That puts you in a very good position because, you know, there are things

Tina:

that you mentioned now and there know, other things that you mentioned in

Tina:

the health history, which obviously there's no, quick fix or quick pill.

Tina:

And so we need to know that you're in that good state of mind where you're

Tina:

like, okay, I know this is not maybe going to happen tomorrow, but I am ready

Tina:

to go through this and, and try to figure it out for myself and for my family.

Tina:

and so that makes complete sense.

Tina:

And you were talking about it slightly now and also mentioned that in the

Tina:

history report that you were feeling guilty for sending your kid to Keita.

Tina:

You know, so much.

Tina:

I mean, mom guilt is it never goes away.

Tina:

Unfortunately.

Tina:

My kids are 16 and 17 daily struggles still.

Tina:

But it's something that we need to understand that we we're

Tina:

putting that guilt upon us.

Tina:

And that's something to, of keep in mind that you know, your kid is gonna

Tina:

be happy and healthy, whether she's in Keita seven days a week or one day

Tina:

a week, because you give her the love and the attention and the support

Tina:

that she needs when she is with you.

Tina:

And so it's quality versus quantity.

Tina:

So please, please, please, if there's one thing that I can help you with,

Tina:

please don't feel guilty because It's really difficult as a mom specifically

Tina:

Uh, you did also mention sleep.

Tina:

And quality of sleep.

Tina:

So falling asleep and quality of sleep, digestion problems and

Tina:

deficiencies and endometriosis.

Tina:

God, help me say that word.

Tina:

So, um, I wanna know a little bit about when did each one of those things start?

Tina:

So when do you feel that your sleep issues started?

Tina:

Was that something that just happened in the last couple of years as well, so

Tina:

something about the sleep is that I have always been, uh,

Tina:

unfortunately having like nightmares for quite some time since my childhood.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

And something that had turned out to be even called Night Terrors.

Tina:

So I, once did some own research and I was like, oh my God, this is what I

Tina:

have, there's an even a name for it.

Tina:

It's called Night Terror.

Tina:

And then for me it's, it feels so real.

Tina:

It feels so real.

Tina:

And then all the emotions and, things like I really live them in

Tina:

these kind of very vivid nightmares.

Tina:

And so I feel super, exhausted.

Tina:

It's like emotionally very exhausting every time I have it.

Tina:

And whenever I would be like working out a lot and going to wellness a lot and

Tina:

stuff like that, it would be a lot better.

Tina:

Right.

Tina:

But now for these, I don't really have the time . Sure.

Tina:

That's, that's what I meant.

Tina:

I need like a new strategy . Like I cannot, no

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: more hours in the day is what we need.

Tina:

I cannot just vanish for like three hours and tell my husband Okay.

Tina:

Bye And then the thing about having trouble to fall asleep kind of developed

Tina:

over the past, couple of years.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Mm-hmm.

Tina:

would you say it was like pregnancy or after?

Tina:

It was like falling asleep was already a trouble before pregnancy.

Tina:

Interesting.

Tina:

But, but the kind of light sleep I have that I wake up with, you

Tina:

know, like I have to hear my daughter say, eh, and then Im awake.

Tina:

This, I have, I mean, since, since the pregnancy, since postpartum.

Tina:

And I think this is kind of difficult

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: But now it's like,

Tina:

really,

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: it's getting worse.

Tina:

Horrible.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

what about the digestive problems constipation, diarrhea , bloating.

Tina:

Has That been also quite a while,

Tina:

or, um, this has also been quite a while.

Tina:

Um, and then during pregnancy I was very constipated.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

Um, and not a one of this home random remedies worked.

Tina:

So only if I would be taking a lot of like, magnesium, would help.

Tina:

And, I'm trying to eat less meat.

Tina:

but at the same time trying to manage my iron deficiency, so I'm taking

Tina:

like iron supplements in the morning.

Tina:

Um, and this I can only manage if I also at the same time take magnesium.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Um, can I, can I ask why you're trying to eat less meat?

Tina:

Is it because of the constipation or is it just in general?

Tina:

It has something to do with the constipation, but it's

Tina:

also like an moral decision.

Tina:

Like I, I feel like, um, so I grew up, uh, in the Mongolian household and they eat,

Tina:

that's a lot of meat every day, all day.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

They, they take leftovers of meat from the, from the supper

Tina:

and put it the next morning.

Tina:

So yeah, I feel like I've already, you know, used up my share of eating

Tina:

meat and at the same time, I do not want to do completely without it.

Tina:

So, when we buy, for instance, directly from a farm that has like this Demeter,

Tina:

certificate and I can actually see the cows, with their horns having like a good

Tina:

life, I, I kind of feel okay with this.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

but I'm trying to eat less meat because Yeah.

Tina:

'cause of ethical, reasons.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Okay.

Tina:

and you would say that the constipation and diarrhea and bloating, all of these

Tina:

things, did those happen, do you think?

Tina:

Like, did it start childhood, teenager hood, young adulthood

Tina:

? Tina: Mm, I would say teenager hood.

Tina:

And I think it's my own fault, I used to be very sporty.

Tina:

I used to have a good digestion and stuff like that.

Tina:

And I have a cine and I see all those Photoshop girls on my magazines.

Tina:

And I grew up in Germany, so I was the only Asian.

Tina:

So I was short, I was kind of chubby.

Tina:

And all the other, girls were like, you know, like little gazelle . And

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: yeah,

Tina:

as a kid You don't realize, you know, as a kid you just see your

Tina:

surrounding and you try to fit in.

Tina:

And then, um, I was, I feel like I messed up my digestion by.

Tina:

Um, I had like an eating disorder.

Tina:

I, I kind of stopped eating

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: mm-hmm.

Tina:

it took me quite a while to, get out of it.

Tina:

so I'm, I'm completely fine since I don't know, I would say 15 years or so.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Okay, great.

Tina:

Um, but yeah, but for in my teens it was a big topic.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: do you think it started within that window of you

Tina:

I started with the eating disorder

Tina:

because when I started eating again and eating healthy again,

Tina:

mm, it has never been the same.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

It has never been the same.

Tina:

and then I think on top with hormonal imbalances that so

Tina:

many women have, you know?

Tina:

And now that I was diagnosed with endometriosis And, you know, it kind of

Tina:

adds up and I feel like, oh my God, there are so many things I have to take care of

Tina:

. Danna Levy Hoffmann: Yeah.

Tina:

Do you know what wanna start?

Tina:

I know exactly.

Tina:

You just feel like you're in a, in a deep hole and you just need to grab onto

Tina:

something, and that's totally reasonable.

Tina:

But I think there's a, and this is where work with me would come into play, is that

Tina:

we just need to do it one step at a time.

Tina:

And it might take a little bit longer, but that's okay.

Tina:

Because if you're on the right path and you're doing it in a sustainable

Tina:

way, yes, that is, it's gonna, it's gonna help you more in the long run.

Tina:

but you're right.

Tina:

I would never blame you for anything you didn't know any better.

Tina:

Your decisions at that time.

Tina:

And of course, putting yourself in a place where you're, you have an eating disorder,

Tina:

no one's gonna say like, no, it's fine.

Tina:

You were smart, you know, you needed to lose weight.

Tina:

Bullshit.

Tina:

Right?

Tina:

But mm-hmm.

Tina:

That's all you knew in that moment, and that's okay.

Tina:

but it could have definitely led to certain issues.

Tina:

the fact that you also have some deficiencies, you mentioned iron B12

Tina:

D, um, that plus the digestive problems might point us to maybe leaky gut, maybe

Tina:

other issues that are causing that.

Tina:

And as you say, hormones where women we're screwed or fucked, as

Tina:

I like to say, because we just are hormonal, more hormonal human beings.

Tina:

And that does put a toll on our, health.

Tina:

With the endometriosis and the deficiencies, let's say, are you, are

Tina:

you dealing with it with a professional?

Tina:

the deficiencies?

Tina:

I would say.

Tina:

Um, I have a kind of good habit now because it used to be so bad, like,

Tina:

like anemic a couple of years ago.

Tina:

I had to get like actual iron infusion.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Mm-hmm.

Tina:

Um, iv, treatment for two years to kind of fill it up again to a

Tina:

state where, because the doctor said there's like no chance you Yeah.

Tina:

Manage by, you know, with the, with the diet, it's that low.

Tina:

So for two years I had to get like, you know, go to the doctor

Tina:

regularly to get those IV bags.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

And now it's fine with, you know, with the diet I'm having, it's, it's,

Tina:

the diet is, I think I would say.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

But it could be a lot better.

Tina:

And the supplements are helping.

Tina:

Yes.

Tina:

But it's, it's also not, it's, I think it's, it's okay.

Tina:

But it definitely could, like the habits in general could be better,

Tina:

you know, with these kind of things.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

And then with the end of choices, it's like super new.

Tina:

Like, it's super new.

Tina:

Like, I haven't even wrapped my head around it, you know?

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

So, um, um, it's one thing to read about in a textbook, you know what I mean?

Tina:

And then the other thing to kind of connect the dots and be like, oh,

Tina:

oh, this is a sexual intercourse lately hurts with my husband, and I

Tina:

don't really feel like it anymore.

Tina:

every time I'm close to my period, you know, I, I also feel, this

Tina:

other kind of pain, deep inside me somehow, and I'm like, okay,

Tina:

okay, It's starting to make sense.

Tina:

So it's, yeah, so it's kind of, everything is kind of, you know, coming together.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Yeah.

Tina:

And it is a lot to take on.

Tina:

we're talking about sleep that's been going on forever, digestion problems

Tina:

that have, have been going on forever, and then all of a sudden, like more

Tina:

things accumulate and it's just a bit overwhelming, which is understood.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

I have a science background, right?

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

But it's so different.

Tina:

if it's about myself.

Tina:

it's really completely different.

Tina:

Oh, yeah.

Tina:

You would think, oh, she can help herself because she can do the research

Tina:

and she can figure out a plan and just, you know, push through and,

Tina:

and be disciplined all about it.

Tina:

But I'm like, no, no, no.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: All doctors have a doctor.

Tina:

All health coaches have a health coach.

Tina:

So, no, I, I wish it worked that way, you know, but it just doesn't, uh, we

Tina:

go into that, we go into these sectors because we want better for ourselves,

Tina:

and it just doesn't work that way.

Tina:

You did also mention that you have some fear around, uh, breast

Tina:

cancer, because of family history.

Tina:

that's yet another something in the back of your mind that

Tina:

Helps with stress , right.

Tina:

I mean, it helps with staying up at night.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

Yes.

Tina:

And every year, and actually my appointment for this year,

Tina:

soon, every year around the same time, I'm like, oh my God.

Tina:

Have this appointment in two weeks, you, and you can feel, my

Tina:

husband can feel it, I can feel it.

Tina:

And then, yeah.

Tina:

And he's, and he, he was really trying, he's like, you're fine, you know, you will

Tina:

go there, it'll be fine, like last year.

Tina:

But it's so good that you're getting it checked, you know, kind of,

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: and then if, if,

Tina:

if they see something, you will catch it so quickly kind of.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Yeah, exactly.

Tina:

So you're on top of it enough to know early enough to take care of it.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

But it's, it's

Tina:

still, it's still kind of mm-hmm.

Tina:

It's like in the back of my head, like,

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Sure.

Tina:

Makes sense.

Tina:

you did also mention that there's a lot of tension in the shoulders,

Tina:

neck and jaw muscles and then you tend to, to get migraines.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

You know, all of these things are kind of, just really looking at

Tina:

it superficially without actually starting to work with you.

Tina:

and especially with what your mom said, it sounds like there is lot

Tina:

stress . and that is definitely affecting a lot of other things.

Tina:

And then, you know, with not getting enough sleep, it's very hard to

Tina:

handle stress and handle eating maybe healthier the stress is always going

Tina:

to be a huge factor on how your body is also reacting to what you're doing.

Tina:

Because if we're eating healthy , but we're in chronic stress mode,

Tina:

we're not gonna be healthy.

Tina:

Mm-hmm.

Tina:

Go to the gym, eat well, do this, do that.

Tina:

You know, but you're not, but you're under constant stress.

Tina:

we're not really getting anywhere.

Tina:

Right.

Tina:

So, mm-hmm.

Tina:

This is why a lot of my clients, we start, they expect me to just give

Tina:

them a, a, you know, to tell them what to eat and everything will be fine.

Tina:

But stress and sleep are the first things that we look into.

Tina:

And with certain people even doing a little bit more intensive,

Tina:

uh, de-stressing just to really understand what else are you lacking?

Tina:

Because when you're having these deficiencies.

Tina:

It's definitely not the only ones.

Tina:

It might not be tested with a regular doctor, but we need to kind of

Tina:

understand better what is going on.

Tina:

so when I asked if you cook, you said not anymore, but the

Tina:

50% of the food is home cooked.

Tina:

What's going on cooking wise?

Tina:

so what we do is we try to, like ready food, you know, like easy ready

Tina:

food but still healthy and organic and because we buy from that, organic store.

Tina:

could be like, I don't know, tollini with spinach and stuff , and then

Tina:

try to make some fresh veggies or something protein based As well.

Tina:

So at the moment, my husband is mainly taking care of the cooking and on

Tina:

top we decided that we need also some help in the household in general.

Tina:

Great.

Tina:

so, now we have found someone who can help us, With stuff in the

Tina:

household and who can also cook.

Tina:

So basically she does batch cooking, and we heat it up, Whenever we need it.

Tina:

So we still eat kind of for cooked meals, but it's just not cooked by me anymore.

Tina:

So the Keita is very good.

Tina:

So they have very healthy food at the Keita.

Tina:

and then, I'm capable enough to make sure that she has something healthy, but then

Tina:

at the moment, I'm not capable enough to make sure that I eat healthy enough

Tina:

And my husband he's like the least picky person on earth He, so for instance,

Tina:

I actually enjoy eating healthy.

Tina:

I like the flavors.

Tina:

I like, you know, to play around with ginger and stuff like this, but he's like,

Tina:

oh yeah, I'm fine with bread and cheese

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: Is he German

Tina:

Yes.

Tina:

Yes.

Tina:

He's, he's German.

Tina:

Yeah.

Tina:

Okay, perfect.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

and you even mentioned here, you know, you crave more coffee and sugar

Tina:

lately, which again goes along with the lacking sleeve with the stress.

Tina:

That's how our body translates into like, I need more energy.

Tina:

Right.

Tina:

So, makes sense.

Tina:

That's definitely, yeah, that's definitely it.

Tina:

It, it's, it all makes sense in just looking at your health history, it

Tina:

really all makes sense in my head, so I'm not surprised at any of it.

Tina:

I would love to try and help you if, if possible, there will be some changes.

Tina:

My question is the person that's helping you cook and your husband,

Tina:

so your husband sounds like a great guy , the lady that's helping you

Tina:

cook, would she be open to your recipes

Tina:

? Would she be open to going a different route if and when needed?

Tina:

Yeah, so if I, for instance, tell her, this is what I bought, can you make.

Tina:

Something with it like this, she will definitely do it.

Tina:

And also, I forgot to say that, um, in the hope that it will somehow help us

Tina:

in our daily life challenges, let's say we audit a term mix, which arrived, uh,

Tina:

recently, but we haven't opened it yet.

Tina:

Okay.

Tina:

It's just lying there.

Tina:

I don't know if, if it's, if it's not relevant.

Tina:

No, it's perfect to know.

Tina:

Danna Levy Hoffmann: I love kitchen gadgets because in my world, if you don't

Tina:

have like two or three gadgets that help you cut down on time, of course you're

Tina:

not gonna be able to find that energy to cook when you're working full time, when

Tina:

you have a toddler at home, when you have a relationship that you wanna maintain.

Tina:

Let's be real.

Tina:

Right?

Tina:

So I love that you got it.

Tina:

Let's see how it goes for you if you managed to work with it

Tina:

and, and find recipes that, that make it really quick and easy.

Tina:

I have other ideas if though it doesn't work out.

Tina:

Um, but I love it.

Tina:

I'm really glad that you told me because that immediately kind of

Tina:

sends me to, you know, think about it and, and send you to, to try it out.

Tina:

But that's perfect.

Tina:

Great.

Tina:

Thank you so much for again being so vulnerable and open.

Tina:

I really do appreciate that because I think that's very helpful to move forward.

Tina:

I think it would be great to, to try and help you.

Tina:

Thank you.

Tina:

Thank you so much.

Tina:

Thank you for taking the time and, and general for offering this.

Tina:

Thank you so much.

Tina:

Bye.

Tina:

We'll speak soon.
